The West Australian Herpetological Society’s Reptile Expo is on again in 2019!

Come down and join us for a family-fun day to remember, we’ll have lizards, snakes, frogs, stalls, vets and more!

This year the Reptile Expo will be held at Claremont Showground. This year it will be a two day event so more chances for you to come and enjoy.

Peter Krauss love affair with reptiles started it Germany when he was just 10 years old when he got his first reptile a Greek land tortoise. He has gone on to have an adventurous life. Including working for Zoo’s in Europe and across Australia, being the first person in the world to breed oenpelli pythons and Womas, as well as supplying cane toads for research.To find out more about this fascinating individual click this link to the  iHerp Issue 11 and read the 8 page article.

Rob Bredl’s parents were Austrian migrants. Rob was catching crocodiles with his father and brothers even as a child (in the Northern Territory). He attracts crocodiles by hitting the water’s surface repeatedly with a stick. Rob is an Australian documentary film-maker, a reptile specialist and owner of the “Blue Planet Wildlife Park” (near Airlie Beach, Queensland). He became known through his many documentaries, such as “Killer Instinct” (53 episodes), “Deadly Predators” (10 episodes), as well as “The Barefoot Bushman” series (8 episodes). His documentaries are being shown on TV stations in more than 45 countries worldwide. Rob’s documentaries have so far been translated into 36 languages. His best known documentary “Kissing Crocodiles” is being shown in over 100 countries worldwide on Discovery Channel and National Geographic.

Expo Meal

This year’s WAHS Expo Dinner will be held at the Swan Valley Oasis Restaurant.

 We have listen to the feedback from the 2017 event and have upgraded both the venue and the menu.
Along with our key not speakers we will again be having Neville burns and John Macgrath.
This is possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet all these old school Aussie herping legends in a relaxed social atmosphere it is not to be missed.

Tickets are $75 – tickets are limited to 100 so book yours early!

Neville Burns

Neville has spent a lifetime working with reptiles and building up a catalogue of entertaining anecdotes – some of which are even based on truth! He is an old mate of busho’s but we won’t hold that against him.
