The West Australian Herpetological Society’s Reptile Expo is on again in 2017!

Come down and join us for a family-fun day to remember, we’ll have lizards, snakes, frogs, stalls, vets and more!

Pre-purchase tickets are currently available for a discount that won’t be available at the door. Save yourself some time queuing and plan ahead!

This year the Reptile Expo will be held at Claremont Showground. With a bigger venue and there will be more things to see and do!

We will have a range of interesting talks available on the day, including:

  • The Unusual Pet Vets – Common mistakes in reptile keeping
  • Animal Ark – Snake avoidance training for dogs, what does it involve, and is it for you?
  • St John Ambulance – Snake Bite First Aid
  • Curtin University Behavioural Ecology Lab – Some exciting research coming out on skinks, monitor lizards and snakes

Raffle

A big thank you to Exo Terra who have kindly donated a Large Extra Tall All Glass Terrarium for the raffle. Tickets will be available on the day priced at $2 for 3 tickets. The draw will be made at 4:30pm and if the winner is present they can take it away on the day.

Expo Meal

This year’s WAHS Gala Expo Dinner will be held onsite at the Showgrounds. There will be a buffet dinner and a licensed bar doors open from 7pm at the ‘Round Bar’ next to the Silver Jubilee Pavilion, with onsite parking close by (entry through Gate 8). With guest speakers Neville Burns and his scruffy ‘wrangler’ sidekick John McGrath will be making the long journey west to join us for dinner.

This is a rare chance to meet a couple of old school Aussie herping legends in a relaxed social atmosphere that is not to be missed.

Tickets are $60 – tickets are limited to 80 so book yours early!

Neville Burns

Neville has spent a lifetime working with reptiles and building up a catalogue of entertaining anecdotes – some of which are even based on truth! He is an old mate of busho’s but we won’t hold that against him.
